HEARTs mission statement is neatly summed up in its acronym name, HEART, Harmonising and Empowering Africa to Regenerate Together. The charity feels that there is a need to bring hearts and minds together to empower the countries within Africa to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), through the synergy of a global and local collaboration. This mission is one that we believe is best achieved through alleviating poverty by delivering sustainable solutions, so that the people of Africa are empowered to stimulate their own growth together and move forward instead of relying on continuous aid. The three fundamentals of civilised society are clean water, food and the removal of waste (both solid and liquid). Significant humanitarian resources are invested in water and food; however, there is no provision for removal of waste and sanitation. We believe that the preservation of lives and prevention of diseases resulting from an inadequate waste management facility and policy must be addressed to enable the long-term development and health of the people of Africa.

HEART is today in the process of implementing a sustainable waste management and environmental solutions project in Lubumbashi DRC, which is one of the first of its kind, and its success, is expected to enhance and save many lives.

HEART-PPP is a unique approach to PPP in Africa. Using HEART-PPP we can provide a way for the necessary infrastructure, that is needed for the people and society, to be developed. More information...
